| so basically i've been talking to brandon every night since he's gone.
and its seeming to hold me over pretty well, for now. i still miss him.
im used to seeing him every day. but, hearing his voice gives me peace
and comfort. so im managing to get through the days okay.
i listened to an online interview they did today. actually, it was a
radio interview in denver. but it was broadcasted online. so i got on
and listened. and it made me laugh. it was nice to hear all their
voices again. the questions were very standard, but their answers
seemed to spice it up a bit. i found it rather humorous that i
predicted brandons answers before he even said them. =)
i went out with a co-worker tonight. and by "out" i dont mean what
people usually mean when they use that word. ordinarly it means going
out to a club or a bar, which really isnt my thing. really i meant i
went out to dinner and a movie. now THAT is my thing! we went and saw
dave chapelle's block party. its funny. hes got some good jokes in
there. but what was even more outstanding was the performances by the
various artists [kanye west, talib kwali, mos def, the roots, erika
badu, the fugees, etc]. it was really impressive.
anyways, no plans for tomorrow. i hope i do something though. i think
i'll call karin. i havent seen her in a few days. and im not really
wanting to sit in my house all day. i did enough of that today. [blah]
[side note: i just thought i'd tell you all that i just finished
reading johnny cash's autobiography and i must say that its an amazing
book. talk about a man who went through many trials and tribulations
only to find God in the end. its really an inspiring book. hes had a
crazy life, but still can be such a great example of hope. i recommend
it to you all.]

| ok, so valentines day didnt turn out like i hoped it would.
recap:
started off great... brandon brought me a rose and a snoopy stuffed animal w/ chocolate. it was great to see him, as always.
went to work at 2. around 4:30 my co-worker realized that she left the
money back unattented in the cafeteria. [we were in the gym w/ the kids
at this point]. she went back in to get it... but didnt return til 10
minutes later, in shock. ALL of our snack money had been stollen! with
no clue of who it could be, my boss made us all empty our pockets, turn
out our purses & jackets, and even shake out our bras. i was more
than happy to do this, seeing as how it'd clear my name and prove im
not a theif. BUT, i guess this wasnt good enough for my boss cuz she
still insisted on writing each of us up.... taking note that we were
the staff on site when $110 turned up missing. ok 1) i am not
responsible for the money. its not in my job description as a program
leader. that responsibility lies in the hands of the site worker. so i
shouldnt be written up for leaving the money unattended. 2) i proved
that it was NOT me who took the money.... i went as far as to shake out
my undergarments for crying out loud! yet, she still is going to write
me up??? oh this makes me so mad!
ok, so then i stayed over-time for work trying to figure this out....
but had to leave cuz i knew i was leaving brandon stranded at his job.
so i went to get him, with hopes that the rest of the night would go
better and we'd have a splendid valentines day with one another. so i
picked him up, and we decided to make the best of the rest of the
evening by going out to dinner. so.... im about 30 seconds from the
restaurant when BAM! i get hit from behind by a girl who im guessing
was just too much in a hurry to watch where she was going. my car had
minor marks on it [thankfully no dents], but brandon and i both had
sore necks for a while. at this point, i had had enough. i just wanted
the night to end. i didnt seem to be having too great of luck, and even
advised brandon to maybe stay away from me if he wanted to live through
the night. i figured anyone who was within 10 feet of me were in
danger. even though it wasnt raining, i figured it'd be my luck to get
struck by lightning at this point.
so yeah, that was the last of my frustrating events.... however, i was
up all night due to an overload of emotions. and then, this morning....
i got called to sub! FOR THE FIRST TIME!! had i not only had 2 1/2
hours of sleep in my i probably would have answered the phone. i really
could use both the money and experience, but seeing as how i hadnt
gotten any sleep before and i would have had to leave my house 20
minutes later [to get there on time], i decided to just let the phone
ring and go back to bed. [or at least try to].
so yeah, not exactly the way i wanted to spend my valentines day. but
oh well. you win some and you lose some. at least brandon was there to
help distract me from my thoughts for a while.
